Become a Games VOLUNTEER!

GOAL:  400 Volunteers to help prepare for and run the 5-day event!

The success of the Games depends on the assistance of our entire community to marshal the resources necessary to welcome the more than 700 visiting athletes and coaches from around North America and the world. We need 400-plus volunteers to help us coordinate all the activities throughout the week. Whether you can give us a few hours during the week or a few hours a day, you can help make the 2009 Games memorable --- for our athletes and for our community -- now and for years to come.  Look to see who has joined the Volunteer Team!

Volunteer Requirements 

• We welcome all San Antonians to volunteer so they may experience the Games firsthand.
• JCC membership is not a requirement.
• To ensure the safety and security of all Games participants, a background check will be conducted on all volunteers.
• Volunteer opportunities include (but are not limited to the following):   

                 ° Clerical support and preparation leading up to the Games
                 ° Ushers at Opening Ceremonies
                 ° Registration of athletes and spectators
                 ° Organization of goody bags prior to the Games
                 ° Chaperones at evening events
                 ° Jr. Maccabi chaperones
                 ° Greeters for visiting athletes
                 ° Management of hospitality tables 
                 ° and more the entire week of the Games:  August 9-14!

• So that you may enjoy the event(s), you can choose to volunteer before and/or after the Games in order to see your child participate.
• Volunteer days and times are flexible.  Choose the schedule that works best for you:  the number of shifts, day(s) of the week, event the hour(s).  We will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
• Mandatory orientation sessions will be provided for all volunteers.
